Merry Christmas and here’s to a creative New Year

I hope you had a good Christmas, what ever that means to you.  I had a nice chilled morning with my little family followed by a great traditional lunch with the in laws….I was on a late shift at the mortgage paying place from 3pm so I’m having the rest of my Christmas today.

Here’s some of the other things I’ve been busy making for gifts that I can now share as they’re with their new owners:

A Shin-yu cowl from the recent crochet along made in King Cole Riot DK in Urban on a 4mm hook for my mother in law, 240 chain to start with…Shin-Yu Pattern Link

My long term project, Baymax from Disneys Big Hero 6.  I designed the graph on Stitch Fiddle a free online graph making programme.  I’ve never done graph work before and liked the crisp look of bobble stitch, so here it is 80 rows high by 60 or so bobbles across.  I loved making it so I think there’ll be more graphs in 2017.  This was for Tamzin a friends daughter who loves everything Disney….I think it hit the mark for being something different

My version of the Hotel of Bees shawl crochet along, it’s a paid pattern from Ravelry but so worth it, really well written.  Made with Stylecraft Special DK on a 3.75mm hook and blocked lightly.  Hotel of Bees Pattern Link

Poppy from Trolls hat from the Just Crafting Around blog for my daughter….she loves it.  Poppy Hat Pattern Link

And on the needles (yes needles of the circular variety) a garter stitch shrug jacket thingy using some beautiful cotton, alpaca and silk blend yarn from Peru….getting there.   I’m using this paid pattern Rachel Wrap Pattern Link

And a nice simple Attic24 wave baby blanket, in Stylecraft Special DK on a 4mm hook… the pattern is here Neat Ripple Pattern Link

So thats me for 2016….thank you for your support and lovely comments which have lifted me on darker days.  I hope to have another crochet along for the end if 2017 with some new amigurumi designs and some graphs for bobble stitch.

Best wishes

Tracey
